Profile

Dr. Nir Ben Chetrit

Dr Ben-Chetrit is a research associate in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and the New York Genome Center. His research interests are geared toward developing novel frameworks for innate immunotherapies and cancer vaccines in poorly immunogenic cancers. Nir earned his Ph.D. in cancer biology at the Weizmann Institute of Science, targeting the cell-intrinsic mechanisms that propel metastasis in patients with triple-negative breast cancer. His current work focuses on overcoming immune evasion mechanisms, primarily through genetic reprogramming of immunosuppressive TAMs into tumoricidal macrophages and strategies to expose tumor-associated antigens in cancers with low mutation burden.
